Johnson County EMS Association Meeting
May 25, 2011
Meeting was called to order by President David Dvorsky at 7:20 p.m.
Secretary’s report was approved as submitted by Swisher Kathy Riggle and 2nd by Steve Spenler
Treasurer’s Report:
$5850.00 of State Training Funds were spent on 2011 EMS Saturday, leaving a balance of $3665.70 to be applied toward individual Dept’s training bills submitted by 5/27/11. Remaining training funds are divided by the number of requests received. Depts. within the Johnson County will receive a full share Dept’s who service residents within Johnson County but are located primarily outside the County will receive half a share.
Dave shared that State Training funds are being reduced by 3% due to State Budget Cuts.
Solon Tom Trump motioned that the Treasurers Report be approved 2nd by Oxford Toni Cooling, Motion approved.
Old Business:
EMS Saturday is scheduled for February 11, 2012 at South Slope Convention Center.
Our intent is to focus on providing training that will meet the new Scope of Practice changes.
This will also be our 25th Year Anniversary of hosting the event.

EMS Week Activities: Awareness Day was held, Thanks to all who attended.
New Business:
RFA for training funds is due in by June 20th Dave Dvorsky will complete and submit request this year’s request will be for $8733.00 which is a reduction from last year. It is expected that we will continue to see a reduction in funding due to State Budget Cuts.
A brief discussion was had on what could or could not be submitted for reimbursement as after much discussion it was decided it is up to each Dept to prioritize what is submitted for reimbursement. At this time 7 Dept’s have submitted request. As a reminder all request must be received by Friday May 27th to be considered for reimbursement.
Election of Officers: We will hold election of Officers at the August 24, 2011 meeting. Odd year elections are for Vice President and Treasurer why even year elections are for President and Secretary. This year’s election committee will consist of Mindy Scott, Tom Trump & Kathy Riggle, if you would like to nominate someone for the position please contact or email one of the election committee members listed above.
Current Vice President Wendy VanNevel read her resignation letter stating that she would not be above to serve as VP after August 2011 as their family is relocating to Phoenix Arizona. The Association THANKS Wendy for her service and commitment to JCEMS Association and we wish her family the best as they make this move.
